Advantages of Nickel-Chromium Heating Wire
1. High high-temperature strength
Nickel-chromium alloy boasts higher high-temperature strength than Fe-Cr-Al alloy. It is not easy to deform under high-temperature service, allowing more flexible layout design of heating elements.
2. Excellent plasticity after long-term service
It will not become brittle after cooling down following long-time operation. Thus the heating elements feature high operational reliability and are easy to maintain once damaged.
3. High emissivity
Fully oxidized nickel-chromium alloy has higher emissivity than Fe-Cr-Al alloy. Under the same surface load, the working temperature of nickel-chromium heating elements is slightly lower.
4. Non-magnetic property
Nickel-chromium alloys are non-magnetic (Cr15Ni60 shows weak magnetism at low temperatures), making them ideal for appliances working at low temperatures. By contrast, Fe-Cr-Al alloys lose magnetism only above 600℃.
5. Good corrosion resistance
Generally, nickel-chromium alloys have better corrosion resistance than unoxidized Fe-Cr-Al alloys (excluding sulfur-containing atmospheres and certain controlled atmospheres).
